Wedding Woes

Dance dilema

My fiance's mother passed away about 4 years ago.  This is my first wedding (his second), so it is really important to me that I have my father/daughter dance, and I don't want him to feel left out.  I am thinking about having him dance with my mom and I will dance with his dad, but to the same song at the same time.  Any recommendations or song suggestions for something like this?

How about you leave it up to your fiance?

This is what I did, and for the life of me, I can't remember the song.

generally this is just a short interlude that bores the guests - leave it up to your FI to decide what (if anything) he wants to do.

doesn't it defeat the purpose of the "father/daughter" dance if you dance with his dad instead of yours?

ETA: We let our parents pick the songs, and only did one verse from each.

dad and i had a father/daughter dance; dh did not have a mother/son dance, but he did dance with her at some point.  it's not a big deal for everyone involved.

i do suggest you find something short, for everyone's sake.  consider "family affair" by sly and the family stone.

You can have your dance without the mother son dance.
