Wedding Woes

OMGWTFBBQ!

My drive to work takes me past the ILs house. A major road intersects their street. I'm at the stop on the other side of the intersection when I spot a little boy standing in the oncoming lane. When cross the intersection and and get closer to the boy I see he's bawling. I pull over immediately and grab him before he gets to the intersection.

I go to ILs and FIL answers and says he's sure the boy belongs to the neighbors and takes him over there. No answer at the neighbors. We take boy back to ILs house and II call H to get neighbor's phone number so I can call him AND the police. Just then a truck pulls into the nieghbors drive and the girl driving looks over at us with this look of, "Why does that lady have my kid?"

There are two or three families living in neighbor's house and this woman and her kid are moving in with Uncle Carlos. I guess she dropped her kid off this morning then went back to wherever she's currently staying to get more stuff. My guess is that Uncle Carlos wasn't awake when she left the kid there this morning and kid was probably left on his own in a strange place and decided he needed to go find mommy.

This mom was still dressed in her PJs. I'm assuming she doesn't have a job to pay for her fancy truck or she wouldn't need to move in with 10 other people.

    Wow.  Just wow.

    I hope she didn't yell at you for rescuing her kid.  Yikes.

    ::snort::

    PMB = kid snatcher. Even though you're currently creating your own in-house.

    She looked really embarrased. She had a key to the house and just dropped off her kid without making sure any adults in the house were awake to watch her child.

    You know, it was a really eerie, creepy feeling seeing that little boy in the middle of the road. I didn't know what to expect. I had hoped he had just wandered outside and couldn't get back inside, but the thought that he could have been abandoned did cross my mind.

    I'm glad I got to him before he got to the intersection. The cross street is a main artery through town. Lots of semis, commuters, high school kids on their way to school. Speed limiti s 55 and people always drive above that.
