DH is turning 40 next week (!), and I am just now getting three minutes to think about this. He doesn't want a big party/fuss, which I will respect. But we'll already have visitors from OOT, so I thought it would be nice to have a cake and candles and sing Happy Birthday. Low key, but not ignored.
Because I am a party beebee, I want to get some party supplies--just the basic plates and napkins and some balloons, not the fake gravestones and cane and all that crap. (Even though, as I have established, he is now OLD.)
He's not super excited about turning 40, so I'm trying to cheer him up a little. Do you think it's better to get something along the lines of "Life is great at 40!" or skip any reference to his age and just do "Happy Birthday?"
