San Antonio trip - (part 1 "Beaver Nuggets")

The following is a Bill-and-Kelly-style account of our trip to San Antonio. Enjoy.

On 5/5/11 at 12:13pm, we pulled out of our driveway and began the 185 mile trip to our hotel, the Marriott Fairfield Inn and Suites, in downtown San Antonio, TX, USA. DK was driving, *Barbie* was riding shotgun, and Wolverine was in her car seat in the back of DK’s 2002 Dodge Intrepid. DK was wearing khaki shorts and a red Phillies t-shirt, Barbie was wearing ripped blue jean denim capris with a blue v-neck t-shirt, and Wolverine was wearing a blue sleeper with brown polka dots.

The car was packed with the stroller and pack and play in the trunk and the suitcase, cooler, computer bag and breast pump in the back seat. Barbie had her silver, gray, and white Coach purse in the front seat, and also her book, The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown. Barbie hooked up her pump and started to pump as the car pulled out of the driveway.

We drove to the end of our street and made a right hand turn, and then drove until we had to stop at a red light, about .8mi later. Barbie, DK, and Wolverine went straight through the intersection and drove until the first stop sign and then made a right onto TX-6. They Took TX-6 to IH-10, and took IH-10 West most of the way to San Antonio.

On the road, DK and Barbie saw many signs advertising for Buc-ee’s and Beaver Nuggets. We made lots of jokes about Beaver Nuggets, and what they could be. Barbie told DK that they needed to stop at Buc-ee’s for lunch and get Beaver Nuggets. DK agreed to stop at Buc-ee’s. Wolverine slept until we got to Buc-ee’s, which was in Luling, TX, about an hour outside of San Antonio.

When we got to Buc-ee’s, Barbie got out of the car and went in to get food. She wandered around the store.There was so much to see! In Buc-ee’s, Barbie bought a toy beaver/blanket for Wolverine, 2 club sandwiches, potato salad, a shot glass, fudge (buy 4 pieces, get 2 free), sweet and spicy beef jerky, venison and pork hunter’s sausage, and drinks for DK and herself. Barbie could not find Beaver Nuggets, only chicken nuggets, so she was a bit disappointed. Barbie took the food to the car, and then we ate. DK gave Wolverine a bottle. After he ate, DK went inside to use the restroom, and when he got back to the car Barbie went inside. After she used the restroom, Barbie saw something walking out of the store. I FOUND THE BEAVER NUGGETS!!! Luckily, Barbie had her purse with her and bought some Beaver Nuggets.
