- The word "britches." 

- That my kids smell like MIL's nasty perfume.

- When I ask my brothers if they want to send flowers or a donation for a death.  Both reply "I'm in."  No mention of what they prefer or how much they want to spend.

1.  Huh...Never gave the word much thought.
2. I hate when people wear such a strong scent and it gets 'stuck' on you if you hug them or something.
3. Make the order tell them how much it'll be.    Or, if you want to be nice, e-mail them back and ask how much they'll contribute.

1) doesn't really bother me
2) most perfumes give me headaches - the only thing i generally can tolerate are minty scents or citrusy scents - and only light ones at that. i HATE people that wear strong smelling perfumes - the one mail lady at my old Philly office had one that was so bad, on the days that she delivered the mail, I would need to go outside or to another floor for 10-15 minutes while the smell dissipated.
3) if you know they'll pay you back (or it's afforable if they don't), just make the donation/buy flowers and tell each that they owe you 1/3 cost.

- MIL must use that word twice a day.  Since she bugs me so does that.  "Did you fill your britches?" "Pull up your britches."

- I generally don't like smelly things.  Even smelly soaps bug me.  Bath night falls the night she leaves.

- I know they'll be good for it so I'll just tell them what they owe.

AH...yeah, I understand.  I hate when people (MIL) say "waRsh".

Ugh...the perfume. My gag reflex has gotten so bad lately that even strong perfume like that will make me gaggy. When BossLady stopped by my office on Friday, I almost went home for a shower afterwards....blech.

And yeah. Most of MIL's colloquialisms bother me. And I am infuriated that H has adopted her "I'll just say a random word, let you know I know it's not the right one, and let you fill in the blanks" philosophy of speaking.
