I grew up watching DOOL, but I haven't watched in a long time. I just saw an ad for their goodbye-to-Alice show.

But she's not really dead IRL, right? She's just older than dirt. That has to be bizarre for her. I thought soaps only did funerals when the person actually died (or moved to another soap, or faked their own death, etc etc etc).

Maybe she'll pull a Monty Python and hobble in saying, "But I'm not dead!"

No, I think she really is dead.

Ah, I just saw that. But she died back in February. They must not miss her too much if they waited four months to film her funeral.

Soaps tape months in advance, so it's likely that when she died in february they wrote the funeral into the show immediately, it's just that it took until now to see it.

Same thing happened with Timmy on Passions They killed him off on the show because he got sick, and he died 3 or 4 months later. Coincidentally, the day he died IRL is the day the episode showing his death aired.
