Wedding Woes

Staying "Big Picture"

I'm a girlie-girl... a real girlie girl, and I've been planning my wedding since I was 9.

I used to sit in my mom's bridal shop in big fluffy wedding gowns, and I have a design notebook that I started when I was in middle school. I always thought I would plan this big princess wedding, with diamonds and roses and a horse drawn carriage...

Instead, over the years, I've discovered how the wedding planning process takes over common sense, and brides with no event planning experience drive themselves crazy trying to figure out how to please a crowd of 4 billion of their closest friends and family. Somewhere along the way, the actual marriage starts to fade into the background, and it's all about chicken or beef, and what will we feed that nutty vegan aunt?

So here I am... girlie and so not into the freaky details of wedding planning... been there and done that with a thousand other brides already.

I'm going traditional... southern, sweet, and pink.

I work in non-profit, I love animals, and I'm marrying the most fantastic man I've ever met. He's an Aggie and we're getting married in College Station, at his home church. And I'm going to carry peonies.

But first and foremost, I will remember that we are getting married, for better or for worse, til death do we part... and it has nothing to do with centerpieces or monogrammed napkins.

This is supposed to be FUN! So drop the worry, grab your sweetie, and enjoy the process! We're getting MARRIED!!!

Love this!  Its easy to get caught up in all the details, but all that really matters is at the end of the day, you are married.  That in itself should be beautiful.
