Wedding Woes

"You have another thing coming!"

Why does this make sense to anyone? Seriously. "If you thinK X, you have another thinG coming"?

What other thing? Is it a nice thing? Is it, like, shoes? Or a present? If I think the moon is made of cheese, is cheese the thing that is coming? Because I like cheese.

This has always bothered me.  I say "you have another thinK coming" which, I realize, also doesn't make tons of sense, but it's still better than "thinG" IMO.

It's because you think one thing, but the answer is another thing, so you have another thing coming.

yeah, it doesn't make much sense.

Reese, that's the expression. You have another thinK coming, because you thought the wrong thing in the first place.

I'm also unreasonably bothered by people who "him and ha" instead of "hem and haw" and other eggcorns.

(There's a link in there. It's like an Easter egg - can you find it?)

Yea, I realize that Bmom, but it's still a silly expression.
