PW: I don't get the Olive Garden promo

For $12.95 you get dinner tonight and "dinner tomorrow."  Their meals are big enough anyway to have dinner tonight and dinner tomorrow.  If I want to reheat something why do I need a whole other meal?  And the other meal is something like ravioli and sauce.  Whoopty-do.  Plus the good part of OG is the salad and bread and they aren't including that.

I'm way overthinking it, but I keep seeing the commercials.

  • Now I want their salad and breadsticks.

Maggianos actually does a similar thing. If you order one of their signature pastas, they give you another to take home. DInner for 4 nights, but who wants that much of it?

  • I am also not into the promotion because of the lack of salad and bread with the take home meal.

And, the last couple times I've been to OG (4-5 times in the past 3 years...maybe?), I've been dissappointed.  It falls way short of my expectations.
  • Maggianos is WAAAAAY better though, LS.  I weep for lack of it.  Well, that is a bit dramatic---but you know.

  • It is better. We have one nearby but we don't go too much. We did go for Thanksigiving one year and we went for Easter this year just the 3 of us.

It was a full on, wearing a tent dress, eating everything in sight event. That's why we can't go that much.

  • Last time we were there I was pregnant with M2.  The food took forever and the chicken came out raw.  We had Carrabbas for the first time and it was quite good, but now I'm remembering a $15 promo card we have for Bravo, and $25 to another restaurant.  Maybe we'll use one this weekend.
  • Olive Garden sucks!  I would rather eat at McDonlds were they at least don't pretend to be something that they aren't.

I just a friendly gal looking for options.

But OG sends all their chefs to be trained in Italy!  ;)
  • I have grown to like OG.  It's DH's favorite place so I've had to suck it up and go.  I've figured  out what's good there and just stick with it.   Their soups are actually my favorite things.
I do love Red Lobster, so what do I know.
  • I love Italian Denny's. I saw that promo, too, and I figured it out: You fill up on breadsticks and salad, then take *both* meals home. Then you don't have to cook four nights of your choosing.

It sounded good to me, but then, H is home 5 days a week now (he works 2 in the office, 2 from home, has 3 off), so I'm getting a little tired of cooking. Don't know why the man can't get his own lunch, but there you go.
