Wedding Woes

Neighbor Rant

Our next-door neighbor is a gigantic asshole. He knows that we don't own the house, nor do we have any control over the general upkeep of the exterior, yet he never misses an opportunity to ask about the back yard, mention the front yard hasn't been mowed in awhile, or point out the broken gutter.

Now our back yard is finally in the process of being redone. Late last week, the workers piled a bunch of general yard debris between our two properties. It annoyed me that they didn't haul it, but they were gone by the time I noticed and I haven't been home while they've been here since.

The day after it was left, neighbor came over to tell me a) it was about time we got our yard in shape, and b) a piece of wood from the trash pile fell on his head, it's very dangerous, and I need to tell the workers to haul it ASAP. I told him fine, rolled my eyes, and went about my business.

This morning is the first time the workers and I have been at the house at the same time since that conversation. Neighbor knocked on my door at fcking 9 am to yell at me about the trash pile. He apparently took it upon himself to talk to the workers and they of course said that I hadn't said anything (because I haven't SEEN them). I explained this to the neighbor, and he told me that I should have moved it myself, and goes into a rant about how the piece hit him and it's a liability for me and blah blah blah.

I know he's lying. The pile is mostly cardboard, so even if something hit him it couldn't have done any damage. AND, the crap is wedged tight between the fences. I know this because there was a planter in there we wanted to keep and H couldn't get it out. There's no way anything came dislodged enough to fall on this guy's head. Just fcking tell me it's an eyesore dude, and I'll be much more willing to work with you without thinking you're a douchebag. Now I kindof want to tell the workers to leave it until they're done.

I think I'm going to start going over there and ranting about safety hazards every time his kids leave their toys in my front yard.
