Wedding Woes

well, I just told boss that if I'm expected to keep subbing for Idiot Coworker

I want his rate of pay.

(same union, his job = higher paygrade.  I end up covering for him at least 3 times a month)

I don't think it will change anything immediately but she wasn't aghast at it.
(I've checked my contract, the days I sub would ahve to be consecutive for me to 'demand' it)

But based on that, I'm not longer the 'emergency contact' when he's out because I said it implied that I was his 'backup' and doing his job whenever he was out and that wasn't approriate.  She agreed.


I've been doing his job today...and all of his workers did a no-call, no-show.  So I did the student grunt labwork by myself.  Which sucks because I had to get the secretary to be my 'safety buddy' in the hazardous materials area.
