Wedding Woes

::silent scream::

OK - So I can't concentrate at work today and you guys won't entertain me so I am fooling around on the internet and I started looking up registered sex offenders.

One lives less than a city block away from us and when we go on walks, we walk on the street on which he lives.

    Does it say what he did?  This could be a "public urination during mardi gras" sex offense or something.

    It says what all of them did; they seem to fall into three categories. 1) staight up rapist, 2) younger guys who are distributing/buying under age porn. 3) creepy old white guys exposing themselves to people in public.

    They are all white.

    I should re-title this, RROPTD - rapey racial post of the day.

    Heck I live less then a block away from the jail. It's wonderful. At least the cops are close by when needed (& if they decide to actually do their jobs).

    I did that once and found a sex offender was living in my apartment complex. When I went to the manager (one of the criteria of living there was no criminal background!), he had no idea the guy was there and apparently the guy was crashing with his girlfriend.

    After that experience, I tend not to look. But, if you're interested and have an iPhone...there is an app that will tell you where sex offenders are based on your current location.

    Considering you can get a child porn charge for sending a naked picture of yourself when you're underage, I wouldn't let it trouble me. Sex offence laws in this country are ridiculous, and frankly, those registries are an affront to civil rights and not worth the electrons they're printed on.

    I used to work with a sex offender.  Creepy, creepy.  We eventually got to fire him (over stolen toilet paper).  He threatened to come back and kill some people.
