Wedding Woes

I know I'm just a dog mom...

...but after DH spent an hour on Saturday talking about what I might get him for father's day I thought I had something coming to me on Mother's Day.  No.  Not even a card.  And he got all butthurt when I told him I didn't really feel like going when he announced that his plan for the day was to see Iron Man.

Guess what.  He won't be getting his new hammock or a new TV from his dogs on Father's Day.

This is the first year I have gotten something as a "dog mom" for mother's day. H got me a card from Jake. I appreciated it very, very much.

zilla - a dog mom mother's day gift may be the only one I ever get. I'll take it.

That's a load of crap (the Mr. Zsa side).  He doesn't deserve a doggy dad gift.

Zilla, that is a really weird announcement for your sister to make.  I can see that she is cutting back, but I'd rather someone give me a gift from the dollar store or some cookies rather than announce to me that I have just been bumped off of their list.

    Your mom?  Even worse.

O-Face, excellent idea!  The puppies might just get "confused" and leave a big gift "for mom" on the dining room table the morning of June 20th.

    Zilla,
so your mom is only giving a Christmas gift to the baby? (or not to anyone)
she can do what she wants in terms of gifts, but that's still a crummy announcement.

My MIL told all of us that after she retired she was going to be cutting way back on Christmas gifts - but we didn't see it last year, so I'm not sure what she was talking about.
