Wedding Woes

Speaking of ice cream

(What?  I was.)

When I was stuck at Frankfurt airport trying to get home, I put my 10 Euro Lufthansa meal voucher toward my lunch, and had a 5 Euro refreshment voucher to spend.  I was going to get myself an Eiskaffe.  I ordered one of these at the Porsche museum, thinking it was iced coffee, but it turned out to be coffee with ice cream in it.  Like a root beer float but with coffee in place of the root beer.

The Haagen Dazs chick asked what kind of ice cream I wanted, and I said vanilla.  She curtly informed me that they had no vanille, and I should choose a flavor from the case.  I hadn't even looked at the case, because really, who doesn't have vanilla?

All of the flavors were either completely gross with coffee (strawberry, mango sorbet, green tea), or straw-cloggingly chunky (some sort of new chocolate caramel praline thing, swiss chocolate almond, mint chocolate chip, etc.).  Terribly disappointing.

I just made a batch of homemade vanilla this morning. I'm trying not to eat it all at once.

Thank you.  I have often thought that international travel would be much easier if everyone just did everything the way we do here.  That includes Haagen Dazs vanilla ice cream.

I don't drink coffee, but could go for a rootbeer float right now.

a friend of mine posted a picture of her and her FI having soft serve ice cream yesterday on FB.  I got an instant craving and the weather was perfect for it!

So I sent a text to my FI (doesn't take much to convince him) and when he got home we went out for some chocolate & vanilla twist with chocolate sprinkles last night and it was so yummy.  We even got the pups a doggie sunday. :)

ice cream is so good! :)
