So...I met with a caterer about a month ago. He was SUPER nice and bascially was everything I wanted. He suggested menu items and everything, gave me a quote and told me if we booked him, we could always change the menu later down the road as much as we want and if the final head count was lower than expected, we'd get a refund for any over payment.
We moved the wedding up quite a bit and the caterer was able to fit us in, THANK GOODNESS! However, now he's seemingly very rude.
I asked him about finalizing the menu when we get together to draw up a floor plan and he said "What do you mean finalize the menu?" Well...we're not having a cocktail hour now so we don't need so many appetizers, and if our guest list is cut by almost half, I don't feel we need as much food (3 meats, 3 starches, and 2 veggies for 40-50 people???) and we had originally included his cake in the cost (again he said if we didn't want the cake, we can take that out later) but we no longer wish to have him make the cake.
We paid him half of the money about two weeks ago, and now that we moved the wedding up, he wants the rest of the money this weekend.
I'm just worried that I'm getting ripped off. It's so stressful!
What if he doesn't refund any money?? What if he is just a complete and total jerk and I get so angry and fed up that I'm a bitch to him and he spits in my food!!??
AHH I'm freaking out way too much! I don't know how to deal with this!
