Wedding Woes

Who posted those 'preggy' pics?

You know the ones I'm talking about.

I found their proposal story, but there were no pics:

I was adopted in Thailand at the end of the  Vietnam war. My birthfather was an American  Air Force pilot and my birthmother was a  Cambodian native, so he used this as  inspiration for a "proposal" painting. He  portrayed himself as a soldier on bended knee  holding out a ring box, and I as the "native girl" set in front of a glowing/firey backdrop. It was  very personal and unique!

Uh. I don't get how being portrayed in this light is remotely flattering.

Also: if you were adopted because some doucheface knocked up some chick in a foreign country and neither of them wanted you, would you REALLY want your spouse to not only open that wound, but paint it pretty colors and wrap it in afucking bow?

How sweet. They should have a dust baby themed wedding.

    Look it up.

You're right, people give their children up for all kinds of reasons, but I can't imagine a scenario that I'd want brought up as part of a proposal.

I'm white so I'm not technically allowed, but did anyone else raise an eyebrow at "native girl?"  Anyone?

heffa, the whole thing is eyebrow raise worthy.  both her and the fi need a hearty slap to the face with a history book.

I think there were several posts about messed up adopted people, or messed up things they'd done, or something.  There was a spirited debate about whether or not the OP made it sound like they were messed up because they were adopted.
