It sounds like this woman might be more than just a woman friend.  I don't think that it is normal for a married man to have a woman as a bestfriend especially if she just recently came back into his life. 

 My uncle just got divorced b/c his wife rekindled with an old love on facebook and now they are living together with her 2 kids. My stepfather refuses to let my mom have a facebook account b/c this was his brother and no matter how much you trust someone you can never expect the unexpected!!  Which might be an old high school love that you still think about from time to time and then out of nowhere they email you on FB.

 It almost sounds like you are happy that you might have an easy out.  Maybe over the years you guys have just become more of good friends then husband and wife.  If you do end up getting a divorce I am sure you will still be upset and hurt but it seems like you already have a lot of alone time and that you are already mentally checked out of your marriage.  Either way it sounds like no matter what your kids will have a great set of parents!!  GL
