Wedding Woes

I have an undying hatred of websites where the 'contact us' button

doesn't give an easy way to e-mail.

(L'oreal, I'm looking at you.  the 800 # put me on hold and I HATE 1-calling and 2-being on hold.  The 'contact us' button gives me some idiotic 'virtual assistant'  I don't want no virutal assistance.  I want to say 'hey, look, be aware your bottles explode before you blind someone'  I had to say 'no, this wasn't the answer I was looking for' a gazillion (okay, 3) times before it took me to a 'submit an e-mail' type page.  really, can't that be option 1?)

i like calling because it gives me someone to yell at. (and yes, i realize that it's not their fault)

i hate when only an e-mail optioni s given.

As someone who is on the other end of customer service e-mails and sometimes phone calls, I do prefer responding via e-mail vs. having someone yell at me over the phone.

I can roll my eyes and mutter under my breath as I'm responding.  Can't do that with someone on the phone.  Sealed

Well, I can roll my eyes.  But name calling is a no-no.

I was the CSR MASTER of being polite in a passive-agressive way to people who were difficult.

That job made me a less pleasant human being.  And it contributes to why I HATE hate hate hate HATE calling places.

any time there is an issue with a contractor/service provider/etc. I'm always the one who has to make the call - it annoys me, but I'm good at it. (I also do this regularly as part of my job, so I'm used to it.)

DK has said that he appreciates that I hold people to a higher set of standards and don't feel bad about letting them know when they fail.

I'm the one who makes those calls as well for the same reasons.

I'll do it when it comes down to it and I get good and pissy.
But it's smrter for people to deal w/ the Mr. first; he's nicer.

I hate a.) when the virtual assistant doesn't give you an actual email address you can just c&p into your own email client so that you can use whatever subject line you want; and b.) when they give you some ungodly-small number of characters to describe the situation. Really, it takes me 240 characters to say, "Hi, I love your product, but ..." and then I have to leave out vwls&spcs&whtnt.

My mom is an inveterate caller to 800 numbers. She called Rubbermaid to complain about a wastebasket once and they sent her a coupon for any wastebasket she wanted. When she discarded the bad one, she realized it was a different brand!
