83 years old means that you have help out onto stage and you repeat yourself a few times, but she was still very inspiring. She spoke for an hour without notes (except for some poetry that she read) and broke into tears when she mentioned Nicholas Ashford. She said he was like a son to her and she will be giving his eulogy on Saturday, but only after she deliveres a poem written in honor of the MLK Jr monument dedication during a lunch with the Obamas on Friday and just before she gives her annual address at Duke on Sunday. I hope she gets a nap in there somewhere.
She told us to go be rainbows in somebody's cloud. I'm better at being a cloud, but we'll see.
