But...Thanksgiving?

Someone on my local has her Christmas tree up. Has had it up since Monday, apparently.

What is wrong with people?

Won't it end up looking like Charlie Brown's tree by the time Christmas gets here?

How much do you want to bet that Laurentian has her tree already up and her living room perfectly designed to match it?

    I know. Respect the turkey!

Mostly because I hate christmas.  But I'm glad the christmas candy is out already, because I love mint m&ms.

I love Christmas, but you can't give the turkey short shrift. Also, we need the whole month between Halloween and Thanksgiving to get our lighting scheme sorted out, buy whatever new lights we need, and have it all ready to go on T-day after dinner. Not to mention move crap out of the way of where the tree goes, where the Nativities go, etc., etc.

Mine is going up this weekend, but only because we needed to pull it out of the guest room closet to make room.

After Christmas it's going to the dumpster. We're planning to move in the next 6-9 months and DH promised me we could get a new, bigger tree for next year.

My tree will go up the weekend after thanksgiving, as it always does.  (My fake tree in the upstairs living room.  Our real tree for the downstairs living room will be picked out after the first week of Dec.)

We don't up a tree anymore, haven't for about 3 years.  It's been liberating.  and actually less expensive and less work, b/c the cats can't climb in it and bust the ornaments up.

We infected my mother as well.  She just decorates her mantel now.

We have a Charlie Brown Christmas tree replica.  I put that up.  MIL bought it for us to be b!tchy about us not putting up a tree, b/c she thinks it's a sin or something.  I love it and so does DH, so it goes up.  Takes about 3 minutes.

Unless we have kids someday, I'll probably never put up a tree again.

    DG, you hate....Christmas?

Maybe you need to listen to The Christmas Shoes some more.  That little boy taught that guy what Christmas is all about.

    I'm shunning all of you.
