Before Buffy was born, the Mr. and I agreed we'd push to vaccinate a son, if Buffy would have been a Beuford.
She'll get it in 6 years or whenever the schedule says.
  • I plan to have DS vaccinated. FYI, unprotected anal sex with a partner who has HPV can lead to cancer.
  • Plan to vaccinate son or daughter.

  • We'll vaccinate both sons and daughters.

Yep! It can also protect against penile and anal cancer.

  • What age do they recommend girls and boys get vaccinated?  Jr. High?  HS?

I guess I should ask the Dr. about this the next time I (and/or the kiddo) see her.

lst I knew, they wanted to do it before sexually active; I think the ped. said around age 8-13.

But it's off in the *hand wave* distant future so I haven't paid attentin.
  • Don't forget head and neck cancer.

  • I wonder who voted no.

I'd like to know why?  This seems like a rather easy question.
  • Maybe someone thought the vaccine was too new and wanted more long-term data?  I don't know.  That's the only thing that makes any sense to me when it comes to a no.

  • i also think it's interesting that there were no undecideds.

  • i didn't vote, but i fall more in the undecided for the reason Kuus stated. I think i would want more long term data before I made a final decision for my kid or myself if I fell in the age range.

    11. At least, that's when Bacon is getting it; she's done with vaxes until then. <div>
</div><div>And  I'm dying to know who's against it, too. Weirdos. </div>

  • My very close friend was against it when it first came out, when we were in high school.  Her parents were against it too, since they said it was "too new."  Unfortunately, she has HPV now.  It absolutely breaks my heart, and to anyone who is "unsure," please don't be, vaccinate!
