What you bought with your cc, to rack up all that debt.

Not to post jack...but I bought low fat cottage cheese the other day instead of fat free and the difference is DELICIOUS!  I don't think I can ever go back.

    YES YES YES

fat free cream cheese = plastic horribleness that you try to wipe off your tongue
low fat cream cheese = not bad, i can see eating this instead
full fat cream cheese = I DRINK YOU IN MY MILKSHAKE

    Fat free is GAHROSS zsa.

Well, crap I wanted to go look back and see what got it up there, but then I remember I was messed with back in October...so I can only remember so much.

New tires $450+, random sh*t $500 over about 8 months, new glasses $400.  So yeah...that about covers it...and it's higher than that...but honestly, it's less than most people.  It's more the ACTION and spending more than I pay that caused H to have a freakout session.

I've always felt that way about FF cream cheese and mayo and sour cream, but for some reason I thought I could handle fat free cottage cheese.  I have to be careful before I run out and buy full fat yogurt.  That sh1t is GOOD.

I think you'd better check your "less than most people."  I think you mean "less than most people who have CC debt," because "most" people actually have none.

As of 2007, the majority of U.S. households had no credit card debt. (Source: Federal Reserve Board survey of consumer finances, February 2009)

I do find it fascinating that the average CC debt is over $15k. Considering how many people have balances in the neighborhood of $2,500 or whatever, it makes me really wonder if there are just as many people carrying around $30k or $50k balances. Really, how do you ever get out from under THAT?

Mine is much less than $2500 and will be paid off in less than 3 months.

But MOST people I meant...most people I know.

It does make me wonder how much CC debt the people we know have.  I know NBIL and SIL have a good chunk to go along with their bankruptcy filing. Old neighbors carry some.  I do wonder if that's how our peers seem to have a shitton of money to spend on stuff all the time, like new cars every 2 years and kitchen renovations and inground pools and $25k landscaping projects.

oface - do you get points/cashback or any incentives for your cc?

i use my CC for everything and then pay off in full each month - just for the cashback. heck, we put the max allowable on the car down payment on our cc rather than drawing from our savings to get the cashback, and earn the interest for another month.

It has to be DG, it has to be.  I freak a little about the CC debt and then feel better when I know someone else has $10,000 or more, even though that should have no bearing on me at all.

I definitely should've bought more "fun" stuff with my CC though.  Like mini tricycles and human hair extensions.

can i ask why you had to hide TIRES?  aren't they kind of a necessary purchase?

or did you buy rims or something?

I was thinking the same thing about the new glasses. Didn't he ask how you paid for them or how much they were?

He knew I paid for them by CC.  But it was stuff like gas, makeup, meals that added up slowly...a dress for my bday...out of hand FAST.

Why do you have a CC? Obviously you can't seem to manage it, so why not just not have one. If you have to buy something use a debit card. I do this. I have a work credit card that covers my expenses. Everything else is on the debit card. If there isn't money in the bank, there isn't XYZ for me.
