WW TX crafting GTG???

...sometime in August or September after DH and I move down here...

we will have a field trip to Hobby Lobby (which is OMGWTFBBQ amazing) and Hooka may be able to get our newest favorite author to make an appearance.

I was never in a Hobby Lobby before yesterday, and it blows away Michael's, AC Moore, and Pat Catan's (Pittsburgh) - I wished I had more time to walk around but needed to get back to the hotel for Glee. (I would have loaded up my huge-ass rental car if I didn't have to try and lug everything back to Philly in my tiny suitcase.)

Just remember to never buy anything from HL full price.  Everything goes on 30-50% off at some point in the month, I think.  And 40% off coupons for a single item are always in the paper or printable from online.

Oh, and the ugly side of HL:

    They are closed on Sundays.

And (I think this is still the way it is), they don't use barcode scanners.  Checkers have to memorize the sale schedule and ring everything up by hand, so watch what they are ringing if you know something should be on sale and/or for human error.

Also, don't be like me and get into a fight with the checker because your picture frame should be 40% off.  HL differentiates between hanging frames (no little prop on the back) and standing frames.  They go on sale at different times and even though you may have taken your frame from behind a giant "Picture frames 40% off!!!" sign, it doesn't mean that it is actually on sale.

Check out Garden Ridge (if you haven't already).  There is one in Katy, Sugarland and The Woodlands.

Thanks. I might have to check it out tonight - the one in Katy is really close to the Hobby Lobby that I was at yesterday. I have more time to shop tonight, and I need to find a new restaurant to try.

See, I prefer Michael's to Hobby Lobby.

    Maybe they're different in Texas?

Hobby Lobby's bridal stuff goes on sale 50% every other week or so ... I've been able to really score there.  They just don't seem to get new shipments very often.

Hobby Lobby is closed on Sunday because they love Jesus.
