need a full service off premise caterer referral

Hopefully some one has some suggestions. I'm looking for an off-site caterer in the Philly/DE region that offers full service (supplies, staff, etc.) good, quality food (not to foo-foo fancy but nice presentation) with flexible menu options at a reasonable price. We are looking for a traditional/american cuisine (something like filet and crab cakes for entree's) I'm open to any and all suggestions!!! Thanks, Kelly

I'm using Sage Catering, they're based out of Berwyn. We like them a lot and were very happy with our tasting, and they're in the middle price-wise. They're handling all of our rentals, as well. One of the reasons we contacted them was because they have worked at our venue (Ridley Creek State Park) before, and not that many other caterers have. We also contacted Shackomaxon Catering (probably spelled that wrong) and John Serock Catering, but decided on Sage before we got very far with the other ones.

I'm working with Day by Day based in CC. Stephen the catering manager could not be more accomodating. They do have a restaurant located at 21st and Samson, so if you want to check out their food they are open during the week for lunch and on the weekends for brunch. The food is yummy!

We're using Ellsworth Scott (a branch of Betty the Caterer). We pretty much told Scottie what we wanted food wise and he built a menu around it. Very flexible! We also looked into Culinary Concepts, John Rothchild, and Barclay Caterers but ultimately chose Ellsworth Scott and Staff.

I met with Nacy and Culinary Concepts, she is wonderful, and will work with a budget!

    J. Cabot Catering -- jcabotcatering.comThey did my wedding and were fantastic.  I found them to be one of the most inexpensive in the city.

Definetly check out Shackamaxon! I just had a consultation with them yesterday and they were so informative, nice, and they did not make me feel pressured at all. They have the ability to just do food, or they can coordinate the entire reception...just depends on what you're looking for. Their website is a little on the strange side in regards to format, but you can tell by their menu examples that they know what they're doing.
