Wedding Woes

Heffa

We took the kid to the beach for a week at 10 months.  Sure it was work, but it was so incredibly worth it.  Long weekends can actually be harder than the week trip because it seems like you unload one day and load right back up the next.  I recommend getting somewhere with Maddie.

Re: Heffa

  • Thanks, 6.  We've been wanting to take her up to Chicago to see family and friends and take her places now that the weather is getting nicer up there.  It's just been kind of hectic, and then we think about the logistics of planning and going on a trip on top of it and we both feel like we need a nap.  But you're right, it will be worth it in the end.  Even if we end up sleeping on opposite edges of a full-size bed with Maddie in the middle because she won't sleep in the PNP.

We've also been talking about taking her to the beach toward the second half of the summer.  That seems easier, maybe because we won't have to fly and we can just go to one place and stay there.  How did he like the beach?

It's fun to see relatives, but getting away as a family is extra special.  Matthew loved the beach.  We rented a condo that had a beach out the back door and a pool out the front.  We slapped a baby pool with a cover on the beach and wandered between the beach, ocean, condo and pool.

It was nice to have our own kitchen too.  We didn't have to disturb his food or routine too much.  I packed some of the food I made and then bought some stuff to take.  It took planning, but again it was VERY VERY worth it.

Definitely go somewhere family friendly that isn't quite so crowded.
