When you see "swimming in debt" secrets on tkps

How much do you imagine it is?

"Swimming" makes me think it's something they cannot recover from.  I wish they posted their actual amount of debt in the secrets.  'Cause I'm nosy like that.

i also want to know the amount.  if it's five digits, i'm judging.  if it's more, i'm pointing and laughing.

Agreed.  I don't know if that means a $10K student loan or $50K of cc debt.  And I need to know!!

I am surprised to see so many depression posts, too.  IDK why, but it's surprising to me.

Yes.  I feel bad when I have over 3 digits now.  Like cup'o noodles is all I eat-bad.

I agree. I just imagine it's 50K in cc debt, for fun.

Also, this may be extremely b!tchy of me, but I totally laughed at the one bragging about the 25K wedding. I know weddings can be done for much less, but I don't find 25K extravagant. That said, spending 25K on a wedding when you're only making 50 is pretty much the opposite of fiscally responsible.

oface, i have bag lady syndrome too.  dh gets all, "we are over budget this week" and i immediately think "sell the car!  sell blood!  we need to move to a studio and get bunk beds!"  meanwhile, dh is like, "umm, that just means we need to eat in this weekend, you freak."

i2i with Nico on the depression thing. I wonder how many of them have armchair-diagnosed themselves.

I don't get up before 9. I have no job and no real desire to look for one. Most days I find it easier to sit and play on the knot than to leave the house. I must be depressed, too. Oh wait, no. I'm just really fvcking lazy.

<div>I wouldn't go that far.  IMO, if you say you're depressed, you've got a valid reason.  Esp. if you're posting in secret form.  And in those cases, I hope those women/men get help.</div>

No one needed to make out with Barbie's H. He was off to the side pretending not to know us.

I'm shocked that people are still embarassed about depression.  It is a disease.  Would you be ashamed if you developed heart disease?  Cancer?

Although I do still think that lots of people confuse the blues with depression.

all the early tkps about "you all are mean" are just ridiculous.  come on, strangers will say that to my face, but someone feels the need to make a supersecret about it?  please.  how's that thin skin working out for you, because this thick one feels awesome on me.

Oh, and no making out happened at our gtg last night.  Although I was last to arrive and can't really attest to what was going on before I rang the doorbell.

I imagine drowning in debt to mean you can't pay the monthly mins without paying something else late.  They probably also have iPhones with $200/mo plans and $600/mo car notes.  (yes BIL and SIL I'm looking at you)

The $25k wedding cracked me up too.  The make out ones give me the heebie-jeebies...they probably got something that required and antibiotic.

Ditto, but I think I'm surprised because I'm all, "So? Go to a shrink. This isn't a secret; all it takes to fix this is a couple of phone calls." <div>
</div><div>But I've lived with depression/depressed people all my life. Fix it or don't, but don't whine to me about it. </div>
