Wedding Woes

BM reminded me.

I was talking with a friend yesterday, and she said that she had the, "Jesus is the reason for the season talk with her son. Now, I would think at 7 she would have had this talk before, but anywho.

She told him about the crucifixion, and him dying for our sins. Poor baby, started crying. She said she told him, "It's ok, baby, HE ROSE." Hee I laughed and laughed. That seemed to make him feel better.

He then asked if the Easter Bunny was real, and she said no. He seemed to take that bit of info better than Jesus dying on the cross.

Poor kid was traumatized.

That is one sensitive kid. And this is another arguement for taking your kids to church so that they have heard of death before the age of 7.

I remember hearing about the whole thing, and being really upset by it. Especially being nailed to a cross. That was tough to hear.

Eh. Seven is considered the age of reason in the Catholic church; that's when kids start religion classes and have to be taken to mass every week. I haven't yet started with Bacon, because she gets bored and fidgets and doesn't really care. We've just covered Christmas, because she gets birthdays, and that Jesus and God love us all very much.

I didn't understand Easter till I was a teenager, really. It's pretty esoteric, ritual atonement.
