Wedding Woes

This makes me excited! lame

When we moved into our home about 4 years ago we inherited a small recycling bin that is owned by the city and we just fill it and they take it on garbage collection day.  Now we need a large one and I was thinking I would have to pay for it.  Nope, they're swapping them, so I get to recycle MORE and the swap costs me nothing!

*happy dance*

Hee.  To add to the dirty hippy thing, I am not sure when I washed my hair.  Was it Monday or Tuesday?  Hmmm.

We were 'given' one by the city as part of what is included in our standard sanitation fee. It was stolen our first week here. The city replaced it for free. We quickly realized we needed another and had to pay a one-time fee for that.

I just found out you can also get lids for your receptacles. We should look into this, because, as you know, it is quite windy here and sometimes items get blown down the street. I need to find out how much they cost, if anything.

They call it a "curby" here, it is on wheels with a flip top lid, heavy.  We have two for our Yard that they call "yardys".  Very original.

My mom has three different cans that are constructed like the ones you describe, OFace. Our trash can is like yours, but the recycling bins are these tiny little rectangle shaped things. The city also collects yard clippings, but they don't provide a special receptacle for that. We bought a trash can for that purpose. H wrote our last name and address on it, as a theft prevention measure.

Just reading that made my scalp itch.  It's like when I read that a few people on Married Life don't wash their faces, ever ever ever.  On the few times that had the misfortune to cross my mind when I was showring, I've felt so dirty that I've scrubbed my face raw.

You get used to it, Kuus.  My hair is wavy and color treated/highlighted so to minimize damage and to heighten my laziness, I wash it 2-3 times a week.  It's taken me about 2 years to get to where I am now.

And I wash my face, every day.  AND brush my teeth and floss.

Kuus, I can't wash my face. I use facial wipes if I've worn makeup, but otherwise, I just rinse. My skin is extremely, extremely dry - like, I moisturize three or four times a day, and I still have a flaky forehead - so anything more than that is a disaster.

But I can't go a day without washing my hair. Eurgh. I can feel it getting greasy right now.

I'm sure I'll be scrubbing my face raw tonight, just for you.

Have you tried the oil dissolves oil method of cleaning your face?

Shiseido has a great oil for that.  Or is it Shu Uemura?  Either way.  Both good.

I was my hair pretty much everyday. I wash my face twice a day, as well as brush my teeth. Not surprisingly, I have a nice PM routine down for flossing, removing makeup, teeth brushing, face washing, then the process of applying all of the lotions and potions to my face.

Kuus - In an effort to reduce my waste, I have tried transitioning from using cotton rounds to remove my makeup to using washclothes. Usually a distruption in my routine is more difficult for me, but this one has been easy.

I got this special cloth from BB&B for removing makeup, and it does better than a washcloth or cotton rounds.  It's a miracle cloth (for the times I actually do wear makeup).

I don't HAVE any oil on my face. And honestly, I could probably go two days without washing my hair, too, but I can feel it being gross, even if it doesn't look it. <div>
</div><div>If it makes you feel better, I do use more face washies in the summer - I do sweat then. And if it's humid, I don't even have to up my moisturizing! Too bad I live in a practical desert. </div>

It's just a way of cleaning your skin, ancient Roman style, with oils rather than soap and water.  A lot of people with dry skin really love it.

Thanks! Do you put makeup remover on it, or just rub it on your face when you are washing it?

the oil cleanse method creeps me out.  i should talk to my dermo about it, but i always shy away from telling my doctors, "so i read this thing on the internet ... "  they always look at their diplomas and shake their heads, muttering 'four years negated by google ... "

I put makeup remover on my face, wet the cloth with warm water, and then wipe down.  It takes even waterproof mascara off really well.
