Wedding Woes

Re: kids and inappropriateness in school...

I don't think I told you this story...

About a month ago, I'm on my way home on a Tuesday.  DH has class Tuesday nights right now, so he gets off work early to get home, change, get a bite to eat, and get his class stuff.  DH calls when I'm 10 min from home and says we need to talk when I get home.  I point out that he won't have time, so he just tell me.

He sighs heavily and says the kiddo got in trouble at school.  I asked whatever for... It turns out he drew a pair of boobs on a folder.  And then showed a friend.  And then a little girl saw it and called him a name (stupid head or something just as inane)...And then what does my genius kiddo do? Tells on the girl for calling him a name.

So of course it comes out as to why the girl called him a name and the kiddo's in trouble.

DH and the kiddo had a man to man chat about boobs, what they're really for, and respecting women and so on and so forth.  The kiddo did not believe DH that I would be BF-ing the baby when he comes.  DH had to convince him.

The kiddo's question after all this?  "So does all the milk MrsConn drinks go to her boobs?"

Oh geez.  I am not looking forward to these days.  Little kids, little problems. :)

PLEASE let neither little D draw boobs or show their little Ps at school.

Ha.  I mean it's not funny he drew boobs, but I also don't think it's turrible.  Kids are curious and it sounds like it was handled well.

I'd rather have the kiddo drawing boobs in class rather than sucker punching kids in the face and bloodying their noses (which happened in my backyard a few weeks ago when a whole gaggle of kids were playing two hand touch football in our backyard.  It was NOT the kiddo, but a neighbor boy...I know I posted about that one).

Oh yes.  Could definitely be much worse.  In fact, I don't think drawing boobs is that horrible, esp. at that age.

It's just interesting that I am starting to get this window into the strange things older kids do.  Heard a story this weekend from a dad whose daughter (freshman in college) got arrested for possession and said, "I was holding it for a friend."

He had taken it in stride (I think it was a little bit of pot - not dealer amts and not heroin or anything) and laughed at her unoriginal excuse.

Reminded me of the time my brother got busted for making fake IDs.

I look at my angel babies and wonder how they end up doing sht like that, you know?

I know my kids will be the ones explaining that breasts are for breastfeeding and babies grow in a uterus, not mommy's tummy. I will be that Mom and my kids will be those Kids. I'm sure I will get notes from teachers.

My kdis are going to tell other kids that Santa is not real, he's just pretend.  My kids will make other kids cry with the truth.  This makes me do an evil internal laugh.
