Wedding Woes

How was the weekend?

What turned into a do nothing but packed weekend turned into hide the boxes wherever possible.  We have a showing today at 5.  Crap.  It's too cold to be outside.  I'm too lazy to drive to my mom's or sister's for the day.  I kind of want to just let them watch tv so they don't mess anything up.

We tried a newish restaurant in town.  It sucked.

6let also randomly asked to go to church with me Sunday.  It was nice.

How'd everyone else get along?

Re: How was the weekend?

  • We were supposed to do so much this weekend, but we really did a lot of nothing. all my updates are baby related.

I had a $10 coupon to BRU so i went to see if there was anything worth buying. they had a sale on the BRU denim-look diapers because for some reason they were on clearance. if you bought two value size boxes of diapers (any brand) and a box of wipes, you got a $20 giftcard. so i i bought two boxes and a box of wipes, spent about $30 and got a $20 giftcard. couponing at it's best, if you ask me. i'll use those diapers at daycare.

also, i need to stop buying diapers. i have five Five FIVE boxes of diapers in my hallway in various sizes. i told H to remind me to stop buying diapers. i'm obsessed.

i also got lots of much needed sleep. we started the switch to milk and i think it's really why baby has slept through the night for two nights in a row. and i dont mean 9-5am like his normal routine. i mean 8pm-730am! it's a miracle.

Saturday night was the big date night.  It was awesome.

We went to a fancy dinner where I drank TWO glasses of wine.  Then we went to see The Grey with Liam Neeson (he was in the movie, didn't go with us, though that would have been awesome).  After the movie, DH took me to Cold Stone Creamery.  Then we literally drove around town for 45 minutes because we didn't want to go home and there wasn't anywhere else to go.  We got home just before 11pm.

The rest of the weekend was uneventful.

  • taw, date night sounds like it was wonderful.
  • Friday-DefConn didn't take a good nap at daycare, so he fell asleep on the five minute ride home and continued to sleep for 1.5 hours.  When DH got home I ran to the store to get stuff.  After dinner, we watched "Rio".  (It is a super cute movie.  RECOMMEND!)

Saturday: The boys woke up early (DH let me sleep in) and watched "Robin Hood".  Then DH and I watched "The Ides of March" (it was just OK).  Then we just bummed around the house.  I baked cookies.  We had dinner and watched "Soul Surfer" (Kind of sappy, but I really liked it).  After that I ended up watching most of "Can't Hardly Wait" and then went to bed.

Sunday:  I had to work, so I was up at the crack of dawn.  DH and the boys slept in.  We just bummed around the house some more.  After I was done with work, my parents came over for dinner.  After my parents left we watched "60 Minutes" and the Grammys.
  • I don't remember what we did on Saturday so it must not have been anything to grand.

Sunday we crashed my older sisters to steal dinner and have BIL look at building DH a new computer. It was a lot of fun and a fantastic meal, we picked a good day to randomly visit. I wish we lived closer to them.

  • OH! I forgot...The kiddo kicked his soccer ball into crazy lady's yard (it was an accident).  I bet I find a decimated soccer ball in my yard soon.

This was after DH told the kiddo and his friends to check themselves before they wrecked themselves.  Ah well...They're 11.  Can't wait to sell this house and GTF away from her and all my other crazy neighbors.
  • My weekend was super quiet.

Friend postponed Coffee meetup with her to Sunday, so I spent the better part of Saturday watching TV.  I cleaned the DVR up pretty well.  I think I watched about 4 hours of tv.  I finally watched all of the Challenge shows.  WTF, by the way?

Sunday was lowkey, groceries-made breakfast for H and then met friend for coffee and we spent 2 hour talking.  It was great.  More TV on Sunday...I obviously needed it...or something.  Then went to the restaurant my bro cooks at for dinner, and it was great.  Seriously good.  Fish fry..mmm and handcut french fries.  GREASE overload.  But it still was so tasty.

Then I watched the Grammys while H was working on a project in the basement.

  • Friday I was shot from the party here at work. Too much stimulation for me. I stayed home and took care of house stuffs.

Saturday I joined my friend and her friend for lunch at In-N-Out, then went to a brewery tour and went to the museum of modern art. Saw my first Maplethorpe. I don't know if I am spelling that correctly and there is no way in fresh hell I am going to google that on my work computer.

Sunday I joined the same pair for breakfast and the mall. I WENT TO SEPHORA. I wasn't expecting it but I had been thinking about going the night before so I had a mental list. Then, watched all of the TVs and ffwd through most of the Grammys.

  • I had lunch with HIO at a new burger place. Local restaurant, grass-fed beef, unusual menu, homemade ice cream for dessert. It. was. awesome.

Also? She and her HIObump are freaking adorable!  I pawned off some of my old pregnancy books and the few maternity tops I had left. Hopefully she doesn't feel like I just gave her a big bag of trash. :)

  • H worked Saturday, so I bummed around the house for a while then thought I'd go to B&BW and buy some hand soap and forgot it was 3 days before VD and the mall was swarming with people, so I left disgruntled. Sunday we went to see The Vow which was meh - not terrible, not great, then watched Psyche on Netflix.

Did almost get blown over by the wind. WOOO
