My student worker was asked by another student to read his (self-published, I think--but published and illustrated and everything) fantasy short-novel.
It was hinted the invitation was extended to me too I declined because NOTHING good can come of this.. (and when worker asked me, I reccomended *against* ever reading someone's book unless you're close enough or 'distant' enough to be very honest)
(the author seems nice but...no. For a million reasons, no)
Worker has been trying for 3 weeks to finish the last 15 pages and can't get through them because they're remarkably bad.
(I may 'borrow' the book to see if it's as bad as she thinks)
