Wedding Woes

It only took THREE years

So, you guys may remember our H&R Block fiasco from three years ago. After that, I had H sit next to me and watch me do our taxes last year. This year, HE DID THEM ALL ON HIS VERY OWN LIKE AN ACTUAL ADULT, Y'ALL!

Oh, I wanted him to be in charge of the taxes for so long. This is the most joyous of days to be celebrated across the nation. HUZZAH for Mr. MinM. He is living proof that you can train some guys. He has been a real fixer-upper.

    Ha.  I still have to do city taxes.  For some reason marking zeros down a one page return has been to daunting of a task.

    If I pay the majority of the bills every month, I think it is perfectly reasonable for him to do the one big annual financial thing. I'm glad he sees it this way too. There is less blood when he sees things my way ;)

    ::shakes fist in jealous rage::

    I pay ALL of the bills and do the #$%^& taxes every.fcking.year.  Yes, they are still undone. Actually, they're 90% done. But I somehow can't bring myself to do that last 10%.  <sigh>

    What was the H&R Block fiasco? I will confess that we go there. Our taxes last year were a mess with the moves and stuff. And then we really liked our accountant so we just went back this year. I've decided it's totally something I'm willing to throw money at so I don't have to do it myself.

    I asked H to do our taxes, so what does he do, Dukis? He makes an appointment for someone else to do them. That isn't what I asked you to do, douchnozzle.

    I was on time with all of my documents. H was late, then had to run to the house because he didn't have everything.

    I asked the guy if I should be listed as the principal tax payer, and he said no, "the wife is always the spouse." <- That? Right there? Is when I should have grabbed my papers and ran like my hair was on fire.

    On top of that, he didn't even get us our full refund. He completely ignored H's education tax credit. I spotted that right away when I reviewed everything. (I had left because asshat was pissing me off).

    Oh, I was so mad. I went straight to the store to get tonic because I knew I needed a cocktail and I was making a scene, yelling into the phone, telling my mom the whole story.

    I told H to call the next day, complain, demand they refile for no charge and get our fee back. He did, and they did. The lady who refiled even found more stuff the guy didn't do and saved us some more in taxes. I hate H&R Block now. But I supposed when you aren't interacting with a complete moron, your experience could be pleasant.

    I do kindof chuckle over the fact that I have to sign on the spouse line even though I do most of our financial stuff. But it makes some sense since I don't have an income and H does.

    We had a similar laugh over the fact that when we buy a house, only H's name will be on the mortgage, but mine will be included on the deed.

    I like your style.
