Wedding Woes

s/o movies

First some background: it's has been incredibly hot in Ohio, as it has been almost everywhere.   On Saturday it was over 100 degrees.  Air conditioning can barely keep up.

DH and I had a last minute offer from a set of Eva's grandparents to watch her overnight.  Awesome!  We decided to see a movie, go out to dinner, and then (unless we were too tired because we're old people who don't get out much) we would go see a second movie.

So we get to the theater - our favorite one, which is a little out of our way, but we like how friendly they are and their prices are slightly lower than everyone else.   We buy our tickets for the 7:00 showing of Ted.   After we purchase the tickets, the little brat at the ticket booth said "Oh, I should probably tell you that the A/C isn't working in the theater that's showing Ted at 7:00".    Um.  No.   We will not be doing that.   So the punk had to refund our money, then we bought tickets to the 8:00 Ted.   It all took way too long.   At no point did he say "you can go into the theater and if it's too uncomforable we'll refund your money" or "due to the inconvenience, here are some bucks for the concessions" nothing like that.   Little jerk.

We ended up going to dinner first, seeing Ted at 8:00 and then snuck into Rock of Ages at 10:00.   That was the first time that I have ever done something like that and I did not feel bad at all.   Especially since Rock of Ages was stupid and I would have been mad if I spent money on it.   Well, at least the music was good.

Re: s/o movies

  • Why would anyone in their right mind pay money to sit in a dark un-air conditioned, windowless box on a 100 degree day?  Were they trying to kill people?

Rock of Ages was so fun!  The story was stupid but I still loved it.  How was Ted?

The heat must have caused crappy service everywhere.  We went to Buca di Beppo for lunch Sunday and had a horrid time.  From the time we entered to the time we got our food was over 45 mins- there were two other tables there.  They originally delivered my meal to the other table, took it back to the kitchen, then delivered it to me.  Plus we didn't get the garlic bread we ordered.

I nicely complained and they did comp the check.  When the guy asked the other table how things were the woman loudly exclaimed "Our lunch is wonderful!"  I'm sure it was really directed at me.  I get that it's not Fazolli's but 45 mins is outrageous to even get the food.

BTW- Thank you so much for the splash pad heads up!  We spent a few innings there while we waited for the shade to get to our row.

Well, I mean, Tom Cruise is in it. What do you expect?

Actually - Tom Cruise was the best part.   And I AM NOT a fan of his.
