Candy Buffet...

Hey fellow knotties I am planning on doing a candy buffet for my lil sisters sweet 16 and depending on the way it turns out I may consider doing one for my wedding in June. I just have a few questions about it. It seems like a 1/4 to a 1/2 pound is what you should supply for guests. Im just wondering how much candy ill need to actually fill up the jars. If you have done a candy buffet before how much candy did you use to fill up each jar? How many jars? etc. The more info the better..Thanx

Re: Candy Buffet...

  • Yeah, this would be helpful I know--we've all asked it!  I actually did a mockup--I want to say maybe 2-4 lbs went in each jar roughly, depending on the size and shape?  That's really just a guess.  But that picture is probably about 30-40 lbs. of candy.

  • We had the following candy for 150 guests:

12 lbs Vanilla Salt Water Taffy from Candy Warehouse
10 lbs Champagne Bubbles from Ebay
15 lbs Reese's Cups from Candy Favorites
6 lbs White Chocolate Covered Pretzels from Candy Warehouse
10 lbs Pink Malted Milk Balls from Candy Warehouse
10 lbs Pink Grapefruit Gummy Slices from Candy Warehouse
10 lbs Fererro Rocher Truffles from Metro Candy
10 lbs Milk Chocolate Hearts from Candy Favorites
15 lbsCotton Candy Jelly Beans from Candy Favorites

And here's a pic of how it turned out:
  • I was telling my FH about it. I was wondering if you ladies did it as like your favor gifts or just as an added treat to your reception?

I was thinking about doing it as our favor bags... but I have no idea yet. I really like the idea and it's something different.

    Thanks,

  • I did favors on the tables also but if I had it to do over again, I would have done the candy buffet only.  Everyone loved it.  It can definitely be treated as the favor.
