Other uses for a ring bearer pillow

I have an interesting question:

What else can I use a ring bearer pillow for?  I have a wonderful bridesmaid that is a wonderful knitter and has offered to make a beautiful pillow for me.  The only problem is that we aren't having a ring bearer.  I love the design of the pillow and it fits our theme beautifully so I would love to use it in another aspect.  I know it's not exactely reception ideas/decor, but I figured I'd ask if someone had any creative ideas out there.

Would it bother her to see it used as something else? If not, I have sometimes seen guest book pens rested on a fancy pillow. If you are having a guest book at the ceremony (or reception) perhaps you could use it that way?

It wouldn't bother to to see it used in other way.  When she offered I thanked her several times but told her we weren't using a ring bearer (we just don't have any young boys in the family anymore).  I told her I absolutely loved the pillow and would love to incorporate it in the wedding somehow so she knows it will have an "alternative" use.  She even suggested making it a little bigger to be used later on as a throw pillow.

I just want to think of an idea to use it for before I tell her to go ahead and make it.  No need to waste her time.

Thanks for the advice for the guestbook Summer2011Bride.  That might be a good way to use it!

a few ideas:

guest book pen holder
photo display (pin photos to it)
backdrop for other decor (put it behind/next to the card box, have it as a backdrop for your escort card display, etc)
pillow for your bridal bouquet to rest on

Maybe she can make 2 and one can say "Bride", the other "Groom" and you could put them on the back of your chairs?

This! You could even have little ties and tie on the pens when they are not in use (before your guests have arrived or after everyone is there) the same way you might for the rings.

Who said the ring bearer has to be a little kid.  The best man could present the ring on the pillow during the ceremony.  I also liked the back of the chair idea - perhaps use the one pillow and tie your two chairs together to symbolize your bond.  Or display it by the guest book or cake table.  Perhaps a centerpiece on your table.  Good luck.
