So the other night I was trying to talk to my fbil. He's a senior in college at a military college, and a very talented musician. He and I have never really clicked, but not for lack of trying (at least on my part). Welllllll...he's been away working all summer and got back on Saturday. I mentioned that FI and I had set our wedding date and everything and told him to keep the date clear. He basically told me that unless he had an important role in the wedding, he wasn't going to come (and in his words groomsman is not important enough...he wants to be best man). He said that the department of defense (where he's planning on working after college), doesn't just give time off for nothing.My answer...well you have to talk to your brother. I don't choose his best man, and I know that he hasn't made a decision. (FI has 2 brothers) This escalated through dinner with different things, he insulted and belitted me a few times, even implying that the wedding wouldn't happen and I eventually got upset and walked away...whatever. That's happened before, and I got over it. My main issue is, if FI picks him as BM (which is up to him), I'm afraid that bro will do something to mess up the day...I really hope that he won't stoop so low to do this, but I can picture it. I just don't know what to do about him. I've talked to FI about it, and his answer is just don't talk to him...but is that really a solution?ARGGG...sorry its so long...just needed to vent!
