Doubling centerpieces as favors

I love Pansies. So, I was thinking.... giving tiny pots of pansies as favors, as well as using them as part of a centerpiece.

I was thinking, a single tall vase with some type of yellow flowers, then on either side, bunching up the pots of pansies and tying them off as a bunch with a ribbon. I'd obviously decorate each individual pot using white paint and attach a small tag on it.
Tables will seat 10, so I'd have 5 and 5 on each side.

Just need to do if it'd look ridiculous!

Thanks!

Re: Doubling centerpieces as favors

  • Potted pansies would look out of proportion next to a tall vase.  I would skip the tall vase and use the potted pansies only.  I also would not try to tie one ribbon around ten flower pots and tie a ribbon around each pot.
  • My friend did something similar.  At each table she had 10 bud vases filled with 2 or 3 flowers and then they circled around an elevated candle that was enclosed in a glass hurricane.  But like a PP said, not many people took the bud vases home (they were engraved with the couples name and wedding date...dumb in my opinion), because they either didn't want to or they didn't realize they were their favors.
