Extra Room at Reception Location

Our ceremony and reception loction is an old historic building, with two levels.  The reception will be mostly on the first floor, however there will be fourtables in the upstairs balcony area.  Behind that area is this "other room"..the room with the orange chairs.  Any suggestions on what to do with this room?? theres currently a long table and ugly orange chairs there, and a bathroom.  Then there is a back stairway to the downstairs main room.

Just to set it up- were having a pretty laid back wedding, with a bonfire, and an irish session :-)  So we'd like to use it for SOMETHING if we can..

Re: Extra Room at Reception Location

  • Are there going to be guest tables on the second floor?  It's pretty bad form to split up the reception, and I know I'd be miffed to get there and be stuck in an outlying room where I can't see or hear anything...

You could set it up as a lounge area, or maybe have displays of old family photos up there.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
