Paper Lanterns

Hey Ladies,

I have seen several receptions with paper lanters hanging above the dance floor or other various areas. I was wondering if you would have some information on them. We are going to be getting married in a ballroom with very tall ceilings. So, hanging them from the ceiling is not an option. I have noticed that some of them are on the same wire and hung across the floor. In that situation do you know what they are tied to or how that would be done?

Where can you get them?
How do you hang them?

If I can't have the paper lanterns then I won't be heart broken but they were one of the first things I saw while looking at wedding planning things and I fell in love. So, any help would really be appreciated.

Here are a few links for some examples. Thank you so much!

I love that look as well.

www.lunabazaar.com has the best prices for paper lanterns that I've been able to find so far, plus tons of colors and sizes. You'll have to use battery operated lights for the best effect. It would be hung with something similar to fishing line, which you can buy by the spool at Michael's or Joann's in the jewelry section. I've seen it there, but actual clear fishing line is probably cheaper and better. You'd need wire to run from corner to corner, or side to side, tie the lanterns onto the fishing line and randomly across the wires.

I'd recommend having a coordinator for the "day of", unless you have a lot of smart and crafty friends with ladders who can help do this beforehand.

Check with your venue, because many of them have rules about how things can be attached.

    Good luck.

    or Save on Crafts,

You can hang them along strings of fairy lights or you can hang then individually from wire/string and use battery powered led's to light them up
