real or fake flowers?

Hi! I'm having some troubles deciding on whether to use real of fake flowers for the centerpieces of my reception. I would LOVE to use the real thing but i don't know if my budget will allow it and I may have to cut on something else in order to use them. Is it a huge deal? Will people really notice? Any help would be awesome! Thanx! Lauren

Re: real or fake flowers?

  • I think everyone will notice that they are fake....and if they don't know your wedding budget or the cost of real flowers, they will think it looks tacky.  I agree with other posters saying go with a non-floral centerpiece.  Good Luck!
  • I went to a wedding with fake flowers, and the really cheap ones too.  You could tell they were fake and it didn't look good, I found it a bit tacky.  That being said, I have seen nice looking fake flowers, and I have also seen really nice non-floral centerpieces.
  • I am using fake flowers for my centerpieces. I got 164 velvet roses for $35.00 online. I also bought these things called Bloom Boxes that were about $5-6 each that you can also get online. I am adding a little ribbon to each centerpiece which cost about $3-5 per spool. All together I paid a little over $100.00 for 12 centerpieces. You can buy in bulk off of the internet, there are a lot of sites that carry many different types of fakies for very reasonable prices.  There are also sites were you can buy real flowers in bulk at far less prices than a florist will charge.
