More free stuff

So I receive updates on FB and such and saw that if you win this contest, you win lighting from synergetic sounds, a wedding planner and makeup now.http://www.philadelphiaweddingproject.com/Thought I would pass it along as I am no longer a bride-to-be.And no, 6 photographers would not be photographing you all at once like people thought - they would divide up the work so you weren't overcrowded. So one might take your bridal portraits while another did the groom's portraits while another did detail pics, etc.

So you get free lighting if you book them as a DJ. No thanks.

What a shocker you respond first!

I'm super jealous this contest wasn't around when I was planning! And that's awesome Synergetic jumped in on it, too.  I loved them and would hire them, as well as my planner, again in a heartbeat. Whoever (is it whoever? whomever? I have no idea) wins is lucky as sheeeet!

How does one win/enter? I'm not going to as I have all my vendors, just curious what this is all about.

Basically it's a bunch of people giving away things. A wedding planner who I never heard of, if it was proud to plan it would be different. Free lighting from a DJ but you have to pay to book them. Yay! 6 different photographers. Wow!! One takes pictures in the morning, one does the ceremony, one does the reception. That's just what I want. Various photographers throughout the day, none of whom I'd want with the exception of Jen Childress. Oh and a makeup artist. Does she give you a free trial? What good is free if she stinks. The idea is great. The excecution sucks. Again, just my opinion which I am entitled to.

I'm not trying to be biitchy but you've seriously never have heard of QoH? And as for Synergetic.  Who cares if you have to book them? At least you are getting something for free.  I paid and booked them and it would have been awesome to have lighting for free.  I think it's great that they can throw in the lighting for free.  And it's not like it's a shiitty DJ company. Synergetic is well known as being a high quality company in this area and I can't say that I've ever heard one bad thing about them. I know I have nothing bad to say. If you are a bride on a budget and who has been through a lot and actually deserves this, I'm sure they will be grateful for anything. I know I would have been.

Eaton- For someone who can't afford a photographer, or to get their make up professionally done, I think it's great. If you are fine and able to pay for everything, that's great, and yeah I'd rather have vendors who I pick... HOWEVER, if we couldn't shell out close to 3k for a photographer, and pay a few hundred for make up, this would really be a great thing to come across. Not everyone has thousands of dollars to put into their wedding, so a package like this would be really nice for someone that can't afford anything close to it. Let me also say that it's really generous that they are doing this. None of these people HAVE to donate their time for free, yet they are so ready and willing to do so. I myself was so surprised to see how many wedding vendors will donate their time for a good cause.

I have to imagine they've been receiving some stories that really tug at the heart strings. What a cool project!!! The partner vendors are pretty rockin'!
