"I Do" letters

This might be a silly question, but I'm very curious! I was on trash for tresures and tons of people have "I Do" letters! They look really cute, but what do people do with them? Where do they put them?

Thanks, danielisa!  Silly me thought it was actual handwritten letters from the bride and groom to each other about love, the engagement, the wedding.  Silly.  silly, silly, silly.
