Ice Cream Scoop Favors

Has anyone done this, or is thinking of doing these, I see them on websites to buy in bulk for 1/99 but was curious of the quality...

Re: Ice Cream Scoop Favors

  • I am sorry- this sounds interesting, but I am not sure what you are talking about... ???
  • I got one as an engagement party favor a couple years ago. It was nice and we use it often, but it also seems like it was expensive because it's made of a heavy metal, not plastic, and seems to be of really good quality. I worked in an ice cream store as a teenager and (I know it sounds trivial and silly) I can tell you from experience that certain scoops just don't cut it. The cheap ones were a giant pain in the rear to work with. The heavy metal ones with "sharp" edges on the scoop were the best. So I think that if you're not going to get a good-quality expensive one, then you should just skip that as a favor. Otherwise it's just going to be a waste. I absolutely don't blame you for not wanting to spend a lot of money, but don't get a cheap favor just for the sake of having one. If you want something more on the frugal side, do candy or cookies. Or skip favors altogether, since they're not mandatory and it's not rude to not offer them.

  • I got a cheap scoop at the dollar store a few years ago and it was terrible at scooping hard ice cream. Unfortunately, I don't think the ones you're considering will be much better quality.
  • Cheap ice cream scoops typically don't work and aren't worth the money. Either give edible favors such as candy or cookies or else skip favors entirely and no one will miss them.
  • I'm assuming most of your guests already own one. skip it. especially at that price-they're bound to be worthless.

  • I'm sorry- I thought you said Ice cream scoop flavors!  My bad.
