What to do with your veil

What do you do with your veil at the reception? Can you wear it? I love my veil, in fact I even wore it out of the store after I bought it because I love it so much). Would it be alright for me to continue wearing it? Or is there some rule about not wearing it at the reception?

Re: What to do with your veil

  • You can totally wear your veil during your reception. I didn't wear mine because it was a very long veil and it would have been difficult toting it around.

  • Due to a hair malfunction (my MOH pulled my veil out while coming in the church) I had to wear my veil all night otherwise risk my hair being pulled down with it. I didn't want to do this but I did it.  It wasn't weird for anyone but me.  But, I was really uncomfortable all night.  I kept sitting on it, it got pulled a few times, etc, and mine was only fingertip length. Consider the length of your veil and whether or not you think you'll be comfortable.  You can always arrange to take it out later in the evening if it is bothering you.
  • My daughter had a very long veil and was concerned that it would be a PITA at the reception.  She solved that problem by being a "two veil bride."  She had a short bubble veil for the reception.
  • I wore my veil through the entire reception.

  • My Veil was a fingertip veil and I wore it all night. It was my only chance to wear one so I got my use out of it! I put it underneath my hairdo so it wasn't in my way at all!

  • I agree with the other posts it all depends on your veil, if it is very long it may get in the way.  Mine is elbow length but I am also going to wear a flower in my hair and I will remove my veil at the reception and the flowe will be my hair decoration.
