Thoughts on a Frog Prince Themed Wedding?

My Fiance is a herpetologist (reptile and amphibian biologist) and we thought it would be cute to have a frog prince themed wedding (with pink and green as our colors). The only problem is that I can't seem to find a lot of ideas having to do with frog prince themed weddings. Does anyone have any ideas?

Honestly I would go with the colors and maybe one or two small elements of frog prince but too much and it very very quickly morphs into a 7 year old birthday party look. Keep it very very minimal

Thanks. I do agree. Too many "froggy" elements would make my wedding a little too childish. However, I know there must be some fun, subtle way of incorporating the theme. There is a cake topper of a bride holding a little frog with a crown on it. Do you think this is too much?

I think the idea of using a loose "frog theme" is good. You could use a subtle logo of the silhouette of a frog (maybe like this: http://www.fun-with-pictures.com/image-files/frog-silhouette.jpg) on your stationery, use green as your main color, use a lot of nature- and rustic-based elements in your decor (check out the RusticBio: http://community.theknot.com/cs/ks/user/default.aspx?username=RusticBio&NestProfile=0). I would personally find that to be interesting, and cute if I knew your FI's occupation (my FI is a biology teacher so he'd probably get a kick out of this as well). But "frog prince"? To be brutally honest, if I went to a wedding where this was the theme, I'd find it really silly and childish. If it were just a cake topper or something, that's fine, but if it had more reference around your wedding then it'd just give off a very "little starry-eyed girl dreaming of her distant wedding day" vibe to me. Sorry.

You could use gold as an accent colour, that carries through the regal theme without being too obvious. Can you incorporate water lilies in your centrepieces or bouquet? I love the idea. I personally collect frog items and toyed with the idea myself. We decided to not do that for the wedding but it will be the theme for my shower. Adding the gold will absolutely make it more "adult" but the pink and green is perfect too.

That frog prince groom's cake isn't "subtle" but it's awesome, especially if there's a princess cake topper on the main cake. Having one thing that generates big laughs from the audience can work.Try picking light shades of pink and green, that will help keep things muted. The ribbon looks a little too deep IMO. I like the PP's suggestions a lot.Just be sure not to theme *everything* ... the ceremony programs, menus, escort cards, centerpieces, napkins, etc., don't *all* need to be froggified.Most of all know your audience. If a bunch of his coworkers or college buddies are invited they'll probably appreciate it more than Bill from Accounting.

mbcdefg- Don't be sorry! Your opinion does help! I am really just trying to incorporate it in small, subtle ways. I want it to be more like a cute inside joke than a huge theme (our guests have very good senses of humor). I plan on making the whole thing more "fairy tale" than "frog". I think people are kinda missing my idea. I don't want frogs on everything...but I do want to incorporate a specific princess/frog cake topper I found (http://www.daisy-days.com/princess-bride-kissing-frog-prince-cake-top.html) Also, I LOVE that frog silhouette. i would probably not want to do that because people would automatically (as I just did) assume that you're saying your FI is frog-looking and not attractive and had a crap life before oyu showed up. perhaps consider incorporating the reps and amphibs into the theme some other way.

I think it's a cute idea! I would look into getting an artist to do a rendition of the frog prince theme so it looks sophisticated, and use that for the invitations (maybe check on etsy for a good deal)! I like the idea of giving it a regal theme. Cake topper is cute
