DVD/video tape centerpiece arrangement

We're two weeks from our wedding and I am not loving our centerpieces. FI and I both are huge movie buffs and I was thinking of trying to use the videos we own between us as a centerpiece. However, I am the least crafty person on the planet and need some suggestions. Any ideas on how to set it up? TIA!

Re: DVD/video tape centerpiece arrangement

  • I don't really know what you mean about using videos as centerpieces. You mean the cases they come in, or movie related centerpieces?
  • I just want to use the cases that the DVD's come in.
  • Nothing is really coming to mind. Seems to me that if you use plastic cases, with our without the movie label/photos, then it's going to look like ... plastic centerpieces. Maybe if you stand them open on the side of a vase of something?
  • Hi,my FI and I love movies too. I was thinking maybe you could print out the pictures of the covers of the movies and put them in a clear frame..and then around them maybe you could movie tickets(sorta like a confetti style arangement) or even make like a popcorn string around them..to go with watching the movie and the whole going to the movies. You could also have the frame of the movie and a smaller movie maybe explaingng why u guys like it or if it signifies something in your relationship..
  • It's a cute idea since it fits your personalities. However don't use your own dvds or tapes unless you're willing to part with them. Because there are people who think that centerpieces are a free-for-all at the end of the night. Go to Walmart or somewhere similar and get copies of the movies you want to use. Just get small easels from a craft store (Walmart or Joann's will have them at a fraction of the price of Michael's, etc) and prop up the dvd on that. No craft skills needed.
  • Or instead of using empty cases, which again may walk out the door so that all your dvds don't have cases anymore, print out the movie posters from each of them onto a postcard and prop it up on the easels or those clip stands (no idea what they're called exactly but they're wire that is attached to a base and you can stick a photo or a card in them).
