have you bought silk rose petals? need reccomendations!

I want to buy silk rose petals online so I can buy in bulk, but I'm nervous about buying them without seeing them. One website I visited allowed customer reviews, and their rose petals got horrible reviews for being cheap, poor quality, and frayed. These won't just be thrown on the floor by the flower girl, I want to decorate my tables with them, so it's really important that they look nice since the guests are going to be staring right at them. Anyone have any reccomendations or any brands/websites I should avoid?

  • I have heard that efavormart is great. Also, have you looked at Michaels? They sell big boxes of silk rose petals. I believe walmart does too.

  • I used petalgarden.com and I was really happy with them.  The quality was great and the shipping was fast.  Plus you can order free samples of different colors so you can be sure you get the color you want.

  • I recommend stering clear of silk petals...if rose petals are out of your budget consider using petals from a different flower. Your florist should be able to provide you with several options that should fit nicely within your budget and you wont have to worry about getting silk flowers that end up looking cheap
  • I got silk ones to line my aisle from efavormart and I'm happy with them.  But for the tables I would use fresh or skip them altogether.  I got fresh ones for my cake table from freshrosepetals.com as that was the cheapest/smallest size I could find.  Maybe look into freeze dried--I don't know much about them but all the websites say they look as good as fresh and I think they are slightly cheaper.
  • I decided I wanted some black silk petals to sprinkle on the tables.  I didn't need anything of great quality and just wanted a lot for cheap.  I bought some off Ebay.  They came from China, and were super cheap.  However, they came in stacks all stuck together.  So they had to be all pulled apart - which was not a big deal.  But, they did have a horrible odor!  I put them outside and sprayed them with Febreeze.  That helped some, but what ultimately got them smelling good was putting them in a garmet bag with dryer sheets and tumbling them in the dryer.  So the price I paid (I wanna say $8 for 1200) was worth the extra effort put into them! haha

  • Also to add... I used freeze dried petals for our after ceremony petal toss.  Got them from flyboynaturals.com They were awesome, looked & felt like fresh petals.  I got them 1-2 months before the wedding & just kept them in a closet in the box.  Worked perfectly!
