Need personalized favor ideas for RD!

My brother is getting married and my family is hosting the RD. I really want to have a personalized favor the guests can take back home with them. I love what my cousin did a few years ago, but I feel like I shouldn't copy them...It was a large coffee mug with the bride and groom's picture and the wedding date, and the mug was filled with Hershy's kisses and wrapped in cellophane. My family still uses those mugs today!I'd love to do something similar in theme, but my brain can't come up with something!! Please help! I'm willing to spend a bit more on this since it's not a huge party. Thank you!!!

Re: Need personalized favor ideas for RD!

  • A favor at the rehearsal dinner?
  • what they said. but you could do a travel mug.
  • I wouldn't really want a coffee mug with someone else's picture and wedding date.  I'm not sure if I'd want a coffee mug with my own picture and wedding date.  That's the kind of thing that weirds you out when you're half-asleep and haven't had your caffeine yet.Favors at weddings are going extinct.  I've never heard of favors at the rehearsal dinner.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • I was MOG 3 years ago.  We hosted the RD.  We didn't have favors.  I wouldn't want a coffee mug with your brother and FSIL's picture one it, but apparently your family might.Sorry-I just can't imagine how far this favor thing has gone:  from kiddie b'day parties, it has morphed into e-party favors, shower favors, wedding favors, and now RD favors?
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
  • I have to agree with the PPs thus far, I've never heard of RD favors before. And I also really don't like favors that have the B&Gs pictures and/or names on them. Like with the mug? That mug would end up in the back of my cabinet until enough time passed that I wouldn't feel guilty throwing it away. Or champagne glasses w/the couples names on them? Yes, because when I'm toasting my personal victories at home, I want Johnny and Jane glasses to do it with. That being said (As they are my personal feelings on the matter):I think you're best off doing something edible in a "generic" packaging, that you can personalize yourself. Like jordan almonds wrapped in tulle, or chocolates (like the kisses) in little boxes tied with nice ribbons. You can use bows to attach little tags with things like the couples' names and the dates, or maybe put their photo on the tag.

  • Candy, or a cookie (maybe with your initials/monogram on it). Or bottles of wine or olive oil.
