chair covers for chairs with arms

Hello, I am looking for help/advice concerning chair covers. My venue is perfect except for the bright red chairs (my colors are pink and dark blue, so this will not do). The thing is, the chairs have arms. Do covers exist for these? Where would one find them?

  • Talk to your venue and ask what other weddings have done in the past.  They'll be able to tell you whether most people just leave the chairs as is, or if there is a rental company around that they usually use.

  • What did the chairs look like at the last five weddings you attended?Your guests won't remember what the chairs looked like.  If you poll your guests the next morning and find that more than 10% of them remember that your colors were pink and dark blue (people planning their own weddings don't count), I'll personally buy you a drink.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • Ditto PPs, nobody is going to give a darn about the color of the chairs. If you're THAT concerned about it, I personally think that renting neutral-colored chairs might be easier and prettier.

  • What did the chairs look like at the last 5 weddings you attended? Once you put people in the chairs and the ladies wraps and purses and eveyones cameras hanging off teh back nobody will notice. I literally just had to look at my chair I am sitting in to see what color it is. ( navy)
  • I know there are "universal" chair covers that could work... They are larger and self-tying. Check out BBJLinen.com for pictures. I'd call them or another linen company to see if they will work on a chair with arms. Another option would be to rent chiavari or other chairs. I think that is what we are going to do because our venue has ugly chairs that are oddly shaped so the chair covers may not work.
  • You're overthinking this. Back away slowly from the wedding magazines, tv shows, and websites and realize that NO ONE will care if you have red chairs at their reception. The wedding industry will do its best to convince you that the chairs simply MUST match the wedding palette or your wedding will be less than perfect. Their only reason for doing that is so that you'll spend $$ on unneccessary things like oh, I dont know....chair covers! The only time people care about chairs is if there isn't one for them to sit down on. As a guest, I would much prefer that you take the $$ you're going to spend on chair covers, and upgrade something else (appetizers, beverage, etc.) at your wedding.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
