Trashy or Cute?

Our state just got the lottery and my fiance and I are totally into it. We like buying scratch off tix; it's cheap entertainment. Sooo, I was thinking about instead of doing a bridal bouquet toss and instead of spend $120+ on lotto tix for every guest as favors, making a bouquet of lottery tix to toss to the guests. That way boys and girls can participate. My question is, is this a trashy or cute idea? And, does anyone have any ideas on how to make the bouquet itself (i get kind of lost after the brainstorming phase..haha)? Thanks!!

  • By the sound of it, you're going to have 120+ guests at your wedding. If you're planning on doing favors as well, you may be just as well off to buy 1 $1 lottery ticket per guest. My cousin did this and it was a huge hit. She put a lottery ticket in an envelop with a little message from her and the groom thanking the guest for coming. When they seated everyone for dinner, they told us all to look under our plates. There we found the envelope. And in the envelope we'd find a lottery ticket. Everyone had to scratch the ticket. And, the only way you could make the couple kiss during dinner was if you were a winner. So, if you had a $1 winner, they'd kiss for 1 second. If you were a $2 winner, 2 seconds and so on. We did have a $50 winner in the crowd. So, that made it fun for everyone and it was different. Otherwise, what if you took a regular small tossing boquet and just attached lottery tickets throughout, or to the ribbon? And, maybe somehow attach a couple to a garter for the groom to toss?
  • I think that is a great idea. I heard of another bride on here who did that and it made me want to do it but I already have favors..

  • My sister did lottery tickets as favors, they were a huge hit.  She stuffed them into little envelopes with a penny inside that they could use to scratch.  No ideas how to make the bouquet though, sorry.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • Neither. I think it is not trashy persay but not cute at all either. Kinda random and silly. If you do not want a bouquet toss just skip it.
  • I think it'd be a really fun favor. I don't know about tossing them as a boquet though.
  • I don't like this idea.  And what would make it worse, is if you have a grand prize ticket in there.  Wouldn't you be mad if you knew you had the grand prize and you gave it away???  That would be awful!  Lol.
  • Some people enjoy them and others don't get the point. $120 may seem cheap but every penny adds up after awhile. Favors are not required either. To be honest, I don't find the appeal in them, sorry. Most people I know tend to agree and don't play them at all. It really depends on what your guests think of them.
  • The toss bouquet of lottery tickets doesn't make any sense logistically. If you're going to give them out, you're better off distributing them individually.
  • I'm not into it.
  • I'm doing a cash bouquet for the toss. It'll be a bouquet made out of $1 bills. I personally think it will be fun.
  • I like using this idea as your favor. I saw a cute photo on one of the planning pages which had cute envelopes with a "We're lucky in Love" sticker on them. Maybe make it a cute message about being lucky in love? I dunno I think its a cute favor idea. I'm not sure how to turn them into a bouquet though...hmm.
  • Hmmm..thanks for the feedback! My family knows that I'm pretty zany, so I'm sure they expect something like this from me already. Oh, and for those who were wondering, we're in Arkansas. If I go through with it, I'll be sure to let you all know how it went over. Thanks!
